Everest Eco Hemp, founded in 2016, is India’s first and largest license holder for the cultivation and processing of industrial hemp. Our company began following an extensive study on the history and uses of the hemp plant. Next, we spoke in depth with stakeholders in order to turn our dreams into realities. With financial incentives in place, we were able to get together with farmers, policy makers, scientists, and industry leaders in India. As we continue to grow our company, our aim is to continue to create social and environmental impact. Everest Eco Hemp envisions itself as a futuristic agricultural company built on strong foundations of sustainability and global harmony.
Day after day we continue to build our business model into a large-scale company with hands in multiple industries. Overall our company aims to uplift rural farmers in order to give them a better economic livelihood. While doing so, we will help not only the farmer, but the environment as well. We continue building a product that is sustainable, superior, and innovative.
Our geographic location, Uttarakhand, is conducive to hemp cultivation. As a matter of fact hemp is indigenous to this area. Within Uttarakhand the Everest Eco Hemp team has begun building greenhouses and recruiting private scientists to create the best possible strains of hemp.
Our team is currently in partnership with G.B. Pantnagar University in the state of Uttarakhand in order to study various strains of this crop. Scientists on our team are working to determine which strains are best suited to our specific growing conditions. Ultimately we plan to cultivate a strain that is low in THC (the psychoactive component in the closely related marijuana plant) and high in CBD (the non-psychoactive component that has proven beneficial in numerous medical diseases).
In choosing our geographical location, we took into consideration not only where hemp would grow best, but also where the Indian people would most benefit. As stated, Everest Eco Hemp is intensely focused on the well-being of farmers and other agricultural workers. By bringing hemp to Uttarakhand we will also be bringing back jobs to this area and hopefully decrease the migration of people from the hills into large and congested Indian cities.
We hope to attain government subsidies in order to help bring about further positive changes in this community. In working together with the people of this community we hope to accomplish not only our dreams, but to help others accomplish theirs. Everest Eco Hemp is starting on a community scale but we hope to one day be operating as an international corporation, helping the environment, and people around the world.
